"Mind The Gap” is my bachelor graduation film created at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz. It tells the story of a boy named TJ, who uses his imagination and creativity to escape the dullness of everyday life and drift into a surreal, fantastical world — transforming the way he perceives his surroundings.

The film explores the power of imagination as a tool for navigating the ordinary.
TJ is seen sitting alone at a quiet train station late at night. When his train arrives and he boards, the carriage appears empty. Out of boredom, he begins sketching in his notebook. But when he looks up, he’s startled to find the train now filled with strange and whimsical characters—some of whom are not too thrilled about his presence…
“Mind The Gap” was entirely animated using traditional frame-by-frame (Cel) animation—created exclusively on an iPad using the creative app Procreate.
